I'm very much into watches—analog watches—but I have never spent the money to satisfy my appreciation for them. I have one watch now, but would love to have more.

Not much, to be honest. I can respect the craftsmanship that goes into them, but the fancy ones are just too expensive and I don't think I can really pull them off, so I'm stll using my Casio G-Shock I got in 1996. It's barely a year older than my car, haha...

Yes but I am poor so my vintage Tag Heur and Rolex collection is quite small and not what it should be as in zero.

Nice looking Seiko. I have a very similar one but with a black dial.

Not particularly into watches, though I appreciate a nice timepiece, but I need that.

Nice watch, awesome strap!

I love automatics too. I have a Tissot Seasar 1000 exactly like this one -

Kinja'd!!!

Worn it pretty much everyday for the past 7 years, runs like a champ. Love Tissots given that they're quite affordable but still make quality stuff and has a pretty cool history as a company.

Would love to graduate to a Tag or an Omega someday, but probably not for a few years at this point.

Sweet collection. I had a Nixon some time ago but sold it since I didn't wear it very often.

The biggest issue is replacing the batteries. That gets spendy.

I love classic watches. I am waiting to purchase an engagement ring and ease up on car hobby before I could justify a Rolex or Tag Heuer purchase.

Automatics are the best, I only bought my first one about 2 years ago, I wish I had discovered them sooner... or maybe not since I'd probably have gone broke buying nothing but automatic watches by now.

Tags and Omegas are much more attainable than you think... clean pre-owned Aquaracers or Speedmasters can be had for under a grand all day long.

I got a new "daily driver" for Christmas so I didn't have to keep wearing my vintage Rolex every day. I wanted something cool but not so spendy. Success!

I like me some watchlopnik! I'm too poor/cheap to collect any big name stuff, but I like reading about it and such. I've got an Orient Blue Mako at the moment that I'm rather fond of...my first foray into the mechanical side of things!

Good choice. I've been thinking about one of those as well since I currently don't have anything with a blue dial. Hard to beat for the price.

I know, I've just always shied away from buying pre-owned watches...perhaps it's not as risky a proposition as I had imagined?

But agreed...automatic watches are amazing, given how long they've been around. Especially with watches dying out (everyone just uses a smartphone instead?), fewer and fewer people realize how intricate and amazing the engineering in these things is. I'd say most people don't even realize there are watches that aren't battery powered and just work BY MAGIC.

Nope, battery. My old Rolex is a winder and it's weird to simply strap this on n the morning without cranking on the crown ;)

I was seriously considering buying a used Speedmaster last year but ended up buying a new Hamilton instead (pictured below). I don't think it's risky but I couldn't quite bring myself to do it at the time. Now that I know a little bit more about watches I think I would definitely buy used.

The idea of having a tiny, intricate, self-winding machine on my wrist really appears to the engineer in me. I don't think I'll ever buy another quartz watch.

I highly recommend it...Picks up a second or two a week, but I doubt that'll scare you away. I looked at a lot of pictures online comparing with competitors before buying it, and they hardly do it justice. Folks tend to think it's more expensive than it actually is - not what I was attempting to shoot for, but still a testament to the fit and finish of the piece.

From top left to right

1) Fossil something - Gift. its meh. I like the oversizedness sometimes though.

2) Nixon Cannon - Got it for cheap because I needed a nice watch fast. Don't necessarily like it.

3) Victorinox Chrono Classic - I've had this since I was 10. I'm 20. It's been that good of a watch (got it as a gift).

4) Phosphor E-ink watch - It's e-ink. It just looks cool.

5) G-Shock - Need something thats completely durable when I have to work around stuff.

6) Seiko SNK793 - Only automatic one of the bunch. But this is why I'm starting to love automatic watches.

I'm probably going to get a bigger watch box and start saving for really nice watches. Also, heres a bonus pic of my Victorinox that I took for a design class project a couple semesters ago. Was supposed to be an ad.
